Re: Discuss: Planning a Bonsai Show
Very informative article. Well written, well laid out, and plenty of pictures. This is the kind of stuff that I like to read. I especially like your "senior picture" at the end. AK

Matt:
What a wonderful article! I have printed and filed this article for future reference. You don't happen to have a similar article on starting a club do you? We are trying to start one but no one has had experience at it so its kind of slow going. Thanks !!!!!

Re: Discuss: Planning a Bonsai Show
That's an excellent idea for a future article.
I would go with the simplest method that gets you going. Maybe meeting at a member's house in rotation. Start with a study group on a weekend once a month and go from there. You might want to do a search on "bonsai club bylaws" or by-laws. I think Diablo and at least one other club has theirs on-line, but the rules and stuff are for down the road! Regards, Matt

I tried the link but got an error message that there was nothing there.
I organized a couple of exhibitions for the Kennebec Valley Bonsai club in Maine when I was there, and enjoyed it. We had demos, trees on show, and both times a lot of interest was generated and we picked up a few club members. I couldn't make the second show though, because I was preaching at the church where I am now as the final step of their calling me to be their pastor. Anyway, I really enjoyed it and I hope to do it again soon. Can anyone send me the article or send me a link? Thanks. Craig Cowing ccowing@frontiernet.net

Thanks. The link at the top has been updated. The article had been moved into the archive, so it changed.
Thanks! Regards, Matt
