Ten Days Later & Sign of Life Returns!
It's been 10 days since my return from vacation and there is sign of life in a dozen of my deciduous trees! I guess it was like a major defoliation for them? I actually did remove alot of dead leaves. Hope is on the horizon! The conifers are dropping needles like mad and I'm not sure I'll be as lucky with them and my Azalea looks dreadful (Very old, was beautiful)!
Should I fertilize after the new leaves mature? Or should I wait till next spring? What about the stuff that still looks in shock?Hope you all don't mind updates and continued questions, I'm still in a learning mode and boy was this a good lesson! ![]()

Don't give up on those trees that haven't responded, at least til next spring but no need to fertilize them. You can fertilize those trees that are on the way back but I'd go with something mild at first. Organic fert or fish emulsion, something like that. If they do ok with that you can work back into your regular fertilizing program. With fall coming up most people switch to a lower nitrogen fertilizer this time of year anyway. Good luck.
