Two Sick Ezo Spruce

I have two sick 45 year old Ezo Spruce. I repotted them 10 days ago. Five days later I noticed the leaves were yellowing. I sprayed the leaves with diluted Miracle Grow and they fell off within a day.

The trees were in full sun but I have since moved them into the shade. I figure it was the Miracle Grow but I am unsure how to proceed. The weather here has been mostly sunny, 60-75 with little to no rain. I water them once a week.

I attached a picture to help with the diagnosis. I can take more if necessary. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks again!

I'm sorry but it's not sick; it's dead, and I know that's not what you want to hear. The question now is, "Why?

I don't know where you live, but it's summertime in the Northern hemisphere, and the beginning of winter in the southern.

It would ordinarily take a conifer a long time. Maybe as long as a month to get this brown, even if you stopped watering it. You could cut it down right at the soil line and it would stay green for at least two or three weeks, depending on the climate.

What kind of soil did you use? Did you bare root it?

Many questions, but it's academic at this point.

Regards,

Matt

BTW, this doesn't look 45 years old. Are you sure? It looks like it's 15, or 20 tops.
