To Repot Or Not?

Hi all,

I just picked up a Juniper, got it styled to what I am going to start with first. I know that on the mainland there the seasons are definite and you know exactly what season it is.

Question is I live in Hawaii, Kauai to be exact. Over here the seasons are very vague. I was wondering if repotting is dependent on the tree's genetic cycle or whether conditions.

If anything we have no winter, frost, plunging temperatures, nothing of that sort.

Should I still wait for spring?

Aloha,
H

Doesn't seem to be much reason to wait in your climate. I would say thin it a fair amount and then repot. Keep it in open shade (morning sun) until it has started to show some new growth.

Wait... why are we in the Dying Bonsai forum?

Regards,

Matt

Thanks for the info......I always had a feeling about my climate that it wasn't that crucial. There are some plants here though that need to follow seasons.

I was wondering why I was in this section too. I guess by my question they already felt that I was a gonner talking about repotting this time of season.

Aloha,
H
