Overwatered trees
Is there anyway to "dry out" an overwatered tree? My Fukien tea leaves (all very new growth) are wilted, but not falling off. (yet). I rescued this "mallsai" and I was taking very good care of it, but I think it was still vulnerable. I have another Fukien Tea that's just fine. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Re: Overwatered trees
Tilt the pot by about 20 degrees or so toward the drainage hole. If there is only one hole, tilt it more. After a day or so tilt it in the other direction.
If you get tired of holding the tree, put a rock, brick or piece of wood under it to keep it at that angle. ![]()

Re: Overwatered trees
Thanks for the tip Matt! Unfortunately, this tree was a chain hardware store purchase (rescue), and I had not repotted it in better draining soil as not to stress it out until it had recovered more. The soil it's currently in looks like potting soil mixed with some sand, so it's absorbed the water and I can't drain it. The soil is completely damp
![]() I will keep your advice in my for future accidents! Thanks again. |
