ahh ok now I better understand your positions.
Honestly I'm not super active because I have found that indeed, most everything has been beat to death when it comes to questions and answers, and 99% of the time I don't have to do anything but a quick search and some detective work to get to where I need to be, leading me to not even have to post in the end. I have actually brought the sarissa back to the guy, and he's been looking after it for some time now. I ended up leaving the country for a bit, thus having not been around. I just got back so I'll give him a call and see how things are going. Hopefully he could put a bit of life back into it, if not you live and learn. Thanks IndieBookMan for taking the time to clear things up a bit for me. The forum has been very good to me information wise, and the last thing I'd like to do is come across as some lazy popper. At the time I was just not satisfied with the information I was finding, and was looking for more of a "real world" opinion. Anyways, enough forum politics, I understand and respect the time and effort invested in keeping this a quality driven and efficient place for bonsai discussion. I will report back with the results when I next get in touch with him, and the methods he used to try and save it so as to contribute a bit here in regards to a situation like this. |

It's always a little frustrating for people on here, when they type out their help and replies, and don't hear back from the original poster. We don't know if the poster is reading and working on the problem, or threw the tree away while the rest of us are still trying to save it! It does happen a lot. ("Poppers", what a great name!)
Yes, please do let us know what happens with the tree, and what the nurseryman did to restore it if possible. Most of these tales of woe lack an ending, one way or the other. Joanie

When you get it back, ask your seller as many questions as you can think of. Writing down the answers helps (for me!). As you have heard here already, read all you can and then re-read it if it's unclear. I am constantly doing this until the lightbulb finally pops on in my head. The wattage of that bulb is in direct relation to how much patience I have to read through everything! Good luck and keep us posted. Mike |

I just got off the phone with the guy, he saved it. which I can't believe because this thing was destroyed.
As far as I could tell, he said he cut back the damaged parts, and he put it in a bin with a solution of water and vitamin B and let it sit in there under regular light. He's a good honest guy, he could have easily just gotten rid of mine and I would have bought a new one. In fact we actually talked about that, that if he couldn't save it I'd buy another. But he took basically my dead tree and nursed it back to health, and won't charge me for it. He's showed me how to do anything I asked right there and on the spot along with giving me tips etc. on how to care for particular things. Also if I have problems I can call him on the phone and ask him anything and he'll take the time to explain it along with the "why" it works like that. I'm going to go pick it up soon, and buy some things to help him out a bit. I'm really impressed with how he's helped me and I'd like to give credit where credits due. He's Victor Eng at Bonsai Gardens of Connecticut in case anyone is wondering. |

I met him yesterday and picked up my sarissa.
It looks better then before and is actually getting ready to flower. This guy is magic. And to top it all off not only did he bring it back, he also repotted it, put moss down and two different types of rocks, trimmed it etc. just because he wanted to. His websites http://www.bonsaigardensofct.com/ His name is Vic. Really, really great guy. |
