Hi pazatidero,

Outside is a good place for a juniper. Do you have a picture?

If not, what makes you think it is reviving if the foliage remains brown?

Regards,

Matt

How to fix

The most important thing is to check it's roots. See if they are damaged and if they have dried out and are brittle. If they are then cut the roots and the top back hard. Remove all the brittle foliage.

Leave as much green foliage as you can. If you have no green foliage then bring it as soon as you can to your local bonsai supplier.

Take it out of its pot and plant in open ground until new foliage appears and replant in spring following that appearance.

sounds like it might be beyond help..
usually when junipers go brown they have been dead for some time.

Hi Frank,

This method could be very useful in some climates. It might be the kiss of death where I live, especially if it's done in summer.

Regards,

Matt

But if the roots aren't disturbed why could this cause a problem ?
