juniper may be dead

When I repotted my juniper procumbens nana, I repotted it into a smaller pot, I may have pruned it to much. Recently yhe remaining pines/buds have fallen off when brushed against. Is my tree dead? How can I help it? Thanks in advance.

When you root pruned did you top prune, too? There might be too much top growth for the roots to handle now.

Where do you have the Juniper located? Indoors or out?

Re: juniper may be dead

Well guest, Adam may be correct, it could be dead. But why give up without another try. First get it outside. Second do not overwater (ofr underwater) this guy. I would not feed it either. If it is in shock, it may comeback. If its dead....well.....

You could try scratching a small part of the trunk to see if there is any green. Green is life! No green well....

Re: juniper may be dead

Next time, maybe try putting it outdoors, at least until you get a nice recovery from repotting. There is an excellent UV/heat/Chickenlamp out there called the sun and it's mostly free. Does a great job, during the day at least.

I try to get at least 30 minutes of morning sun a day, myself.
