bonsaiTALK Hint: Did you know you can double click any bonsai term on this page for its definition?

The middle one is supposed to be a Brazilian Nut Tree if I remember correctly. The one on the right is a Pachira or Money Tree according to the little info stake.

These two had drain holes in the pots, but the Ficus pot did not. I used a masonry drill bit and drilled a hole in it.

I think they were $7.99 each. When I was at HD looking at them, I turned one upside down to check for drain holes and the entire contents just fell out. Mine have a lot of moss; probably 1/3 moss and 2/3 potting soil. I've had them outside in semi-shade since and they still look healthy.

best regards, lm

Amethyst, I bought one like yours @ HD also. Same thing except mine came in a solid brown pot with almost same markings.

larry mac, I did the same as you. Turned the thing upside down and the poor little thing fell out of it's pot. Had moss like you said and potting soil. Was DRY as a bone. Had no price shown so I had a price check done. Was $6.98 so I turned it down @ that time. You must live in the high dollar district where they can charge more.
Got outside the store and started feeling sorry for it so went back in to rescue the poor little thing. Could NOT let them kill it so I bought it . It's outside in the shade and growing like crazy. I'm a sucker for material that has been abused. Hope they start keeping things watered or I'll go broke. Have not drilled a hole yet but plan to do so soon.

Mine has a drain hole built in, thank goodness. And there is a lot of loosely attatched moss, I didn't dare turn it upside-down so I only discovered the hole when I watered it

Embarassed Got caught Buying there too

Yep, I got caught buying from the Home D. also. But didn't have as good of luck with mine. Lets just say all the trees that I "SAVED" didn't make it. How do you expect a half dead tree with no roots(*which I found out later) and bone dry, to survive. But at the time I thought it was going to be alright, it had an abundance of follage and had flowers!!
I guess just it was just another lesson learned.
