Fukien Tea Help! Should I Repot?

My tree was purchased from the internet mid summer and lived happily outside. It is in a 8" pot with your typical soggy mulch mail order medium. I was afraid it was too late in the season to repot and the tree was doing fine. I have since moved it indoors and was doing fine for about a month. Now the leaves are yellowing up and dropping to the point where the tree is almost leafless. My question is can I repot now and try and save this tree or try and revive it in the soggy soil it is in and repot in the spring. The tree sits next to a french door and gets plenty of sun and the soil is check daily and is only watered when needed. I have a chinese elm from the same supplier in the same medium in the same spot and is doing fine as well as my other tropicals that are indoor for the winter.

Ghost,

Have you checked for pests, like mealybugs or scale? A serious infestation by such beasties can cost a bonsai its leaves.

I do not see anything strange. the leaves are browning and crisping up. i think i am losing her? They look as though they are scorched but by what? just the inside heat and lack of humidity?

I'm no expert but I had a similiar experience. I bought a fukien tea last fall and it seemed fine for around a month. Then the leaves started getting brown and dry. I think that as the winter set in the house just got too dry. I was sure it would die but the tree limped along all winter and then seemed to revive over the summer out of doors. I'm hoping I can keep the humidity up this winter.
