Ficus dropping all its leaves

I acquired a narrow leaf ficus (Ficus nerifolia) a few month ago and repotted the tree after somewhat vigorus root prunning into a smaler and shallow pot. The treet appeared OK for a few weeks but now its laeves are turning yellow and dropping. There is some new growth coming out but not enough to recover the bald areas of the tree crown. I am giving it plenty of light and Iam not too generous with water as required for this species. Is there hope for this poor fella?

Hang in there. Don't overwater.

It's probably reacting to the root pruning. They do that.

You changed its location, too. Right?

Probably a good idea to give it some protection from that Texas sun for a while.

Bart's correct as always.

Ficus will do this sometimes after repotting or another change.

Don't baby it, treat it as you always have, don't try to "save" it by over watering, feeding, etc. It'll sprout new leaves before you know it.

Sigh of relief...

Sounds encouraging. I heard these trees are temperamental. I am glad to know it's just a phase. Thanks.
