Hi Shahpor, There are a number of online retailers that sell soils specifically mixed for bonsai. www.yorkbonsai.co.uk are one that spring to mind. If you don't want the hassel of mixing your own, this may be the way to go. As I mentioned earlier, I use a high fired cat litter, either on its own or mixed with regular compost that has been screened to remove anything smaller than 2mm, in a ratio of about 70-80% litter to 20-30% compost. You can pick up a 30 litre bag of Sophisticat Pink for about £8. It goes a long way and is superb as a soil component. You'll never be able to overwater your trees using it, as it drains extremely fast. All the best, Aaron

Thanks guys.
Will try the chopstick thing and see how it goes. Aaron, I don't think I am quite at the mixing my own level yet, so will probably just buy some from the link you gave. I assume all the soils they sell are good and it doesn't make much difference which one I get? Thanks again. |

Thank you
I just wanted to come on again and say a big thank you to everyone who helped me.
After a long struggle which saw her lose all her leaves and look dead, she has regain her health and is looking good once again. Just a couple of quick snaps to show you how it currently stands: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Please excuse the crappy quality of the pictures, but they were taken with my old, cheap digital camera in less than ideal lighting conditions. Anyway, again a big thanks and I will try and be more careful in the future. |
