Have i just slaughtered my bonsai?

hi there

i am new here and new to bonsai, having already had one 'tree of a thousand stars' sarissa? fail on me i was desperate not to lose another.

i have been reading here about the yellow leaves here, however my poor tree appeared to come complete with nasty little tiny white maggotty pests that lived in the root ball, i think that's what killed the first one, when i noticed them on this tree i didn't want it to die too.

so my question, have i killed it? in an emergency i went and got some compost and took it out of its pot and washed all the soil off it in an attempt to rid it of the pests and have re-potted it in its dish and liberally watered it.

i'm worried its going to either die of shock or disgust

thanks

Ms

I just ran across your post doing some housekeeping. Hopefully your tree hasn't given up!

There are some threads recently posted concerning gnat larvae and bugs in the soil. You can find them by using the search below. Search on "gnat" or "bugs AND soil"

Regards,

Matt
