Posts: 771	Typically root problems or insects; easier to tell if you can see the tree. Watch your watering habits and spray with a good all around insecticide/fungicide like Orthene... Only expose to direct morning sun. New growth emerging indicates it's recovering.

Brown tips can also be caused by pruning. Anything that crushes the needle tips will make them die back, So be sure when you prune to cut back to twig or branch or pluck out the branch tip (pinching).
