Brown tips on leaves of tridents & japanese
Hi,
The tips of many of the leaves of my trident maples and some of my japanese maples are turning brown. Is it from too much sun? It's just really started to get warm here in upstate New York so it seems unlikely but I'm stumped. Thanks JLK |

Leaves would tend to burn in the center from too much sun. Getting crispy along the margins may be a result of the plant running out of water during peak periods during the day.
So it is probably a problem you could address by getting them out of full sun from noon to 4 or so. Regards, Matt

Had the same problem with my trident here in Japan. I think I was getting them to much full sun in mid-day. Moved them to a shaded area and doing great now....
