Thanks you Carl(s). I see your points but I think it is also with the trees that are (true) art.
At the Bonsai Shows that I have attended, and the public exhibits, I have noticed the same lack of respect (for lack of a better term) for the artistic effort and the time to bring the tree to the present state. It could be just my warped mind seeing more into peoples reactions than is actually there. Jay |

My Greenhouse is right on the corner of a busy intersection in our resort town, and people are always walking by, and are amazed at the trees. Some have asked if they could come in and view them close up. Of course I was happpy to oblige.
The comment that threw me was that your trees (meaning mine) look better than the exhibit at Longwood Gardens.... Obviously, they didn't know what they were talking about! Ah, the uneducated public!!! ![]() |

I for one think that the opinion of an uneducated public can be very usefull. It can tell you when you are being too strict with your trees and not artistic enough.
A tree that follows all the rules will generally grab the public less than an artisticly creative tree. Mittar |
