Walter, your comments on this thread are the best tutorial on this subject that I have ever seen, by far. For the most part, I pick up little bits and pieces here and there and add, incrementally, to my understanding of Bonsai. These comments have brought about a "paradigm shift" for me, as I imagine they have for some others.
I, frankly, think that you owe the world a book, with illustrations and some treatment of related subjects of a practical nature. It would be a great loss for the Bonsai Community if you do not publish some sort of definitive book that makes available your thoughts and understanding of Bonsai. Your English is better than most of us that speak it as a native language, and a decent editor or translator would certainly resolve any issues in that area. I remember the impact that John Naka's "Bonsai Techniques" had on me. Wow! I CAN do this. I think a book by you would have similar impact. Wow! Bonsai is SO NEAT! Best regards, Fred |

I'd really like to see something on CD. A gallery of pics, that sort of thing. I've been saving some of Walter's pics that he has posted on galleries. I also took these sections on this thread and put them into a text file so I could have it without having to get on line.
I'd spring for a CD if it were produced. Go for it Walter! Craig Cowing NY Zone 5b/6a |

A great read Walter!
Thank you for sharing these things with us. The principles of which you speak are those that are so difficult to put into words and you have done it. That in itself is great accomplishment. "Lisa Kanishas noticed that bonsai influences the way one looks at trees in nature rather than the other way around." I love that sentence! BTW, if you do put that CD out will you make sure it's Macintosh compatable. Thanks again. |
