I guess I could only comment on the easy/hard scale. If one is surrounded by those of lesser capacity its easy to be perceived as arrogant or vain-glorius as the old world called it...If the people around you are card carrying supermen and women then it would be hard to be considered arrogant. Its more about exposure than who is more or less capable, at least from here.
