NC... HAHAHHAHAHAHA sicko

Funniest thing said here this whole time.

To the Will defenders... you are all good people... it's a shame...

To those who hold no love for Will... you have good cause...

Plagerism sucks... there really isnt any two ways about it. Not sure what there is left to discuss...

Is plagerism the end of the world... no... cuz despite the terrible things people do, the world keeps turning. Doesn't make it right... but it does.

Can we make it a better world? Yep... but only by our own actions.

Just remember... hate feeds fires... indifference... now THAT is a bugger. I vote for not reading or giving a hang what plagerists do. Lets just all ignore them. They'll go batty just by that one act. Cuz honestly... a plagerist wants glory without the work. And thats about it.

Kindest regards,

Vicious

... and in simple language, here are basic guidelines from Indiana University for recognizing plagiarism and how to avoid it.

It all boils down to "write it in your own words"

On another website I'm on,when you first sign up, you have to go through a checklist of things you agree to. One of the very first things is that you'll never pass off another person's work as your own! That's even before the "thou shalt not spam" item . Penalities include banishment and immediate removal of all your posts. I've seen other bonsai sites where on the front page it says do not plagarize. Every school in the US has rules against it. It's commonly known to be wrong. Perhaps a nice new cover page when registering for BT with a large notice that plagarizing is unnacceptable?

This thread may have started as being about one person, but has morphed into something better, a discussion. Said person's name is only brought up by a few posters now. Thread was closed because it became an attack on websites and was rightly reopened after moving of offending posts. If you don't want thread to be a lynch mob, don't mention names Great thing about the internet, just a click away is another topic!

Do we all agree plagarisim is wrong? Well, I'd like to say yes, but if so this wouldn't be a big thread, just a string of "I agrees". It's kinda like murder-if an ordinary person committed murder, a jury would slam the door and throw away the key, ignorance of the law is no excuse, it's wrong, you suffer-and they'd be right. If a "famous" person does it under the same set of circumstances, immediatly people start trying to defend them... well...they didn't know the law (?!)... we should give them a break because of all the good things they did..... they didn't mean it... famous person then hires a lawyer who manages to get a lesser plea by arguing semantics etc. Both crimes were the same, murder. Both crimes should be treated the same, regardless of who did them.* If it's wrong for one, its wrong for all .

And has anyone notice how plagarism and plague start the same!? LOL

Funny you should mention that website Joanie, UofI was one of the references they gave us in college about not copying!

*I am in no way trying to imply that plagarism is murder (although it is murder of a written idea..in a way) nor am I trying to imply we should throw someone in jail....ah you get the point, disclaimer over

I'm still trying to figure out why anyone would waste their time writing an article about chopsticks much less have to "borrow" words to do it?

this is a lynch mob mentality.

Isn't a "jury" just a nice term for a legal lynch mob?

I'll pretend like I care....here goes....94 percent of people and 90 percent of academics couldn't write something original to save their kids lives....so don't ask the impossible of most people....they don't have the gear between their ears...why punish them for it?

The article itself wasn't that bad. Pretty good really. A bit off topic for the places it was published in but not bad.

Pity the real author never got credit for it.
Come to think of it I wonder if any one has bothered to contact the real author for permission to ues that article on any of the web sites where it is posted

Did the perpetrator actually bother to apologize to the real author?
