Carl,

I suppose I do see the irony. fair enough.

I also don't mind unsigned negative rep points, but the commentless ones bug me. I want to know if I'm getting them merely for expressing an opinion that is disagreeable, or if I'm really truly wrong about something objective - wrong about something horticultural. I want to know if I'm saying stuff that doesn't make sense horticulturally. sorry to digress from the thread further.

thanks,

toby

You guys sure got a lot of fun out of that comment, didn't cha?

When my daughter has someone come into the gas station with an accent, she tries to keep them talking because she just enjoys hearing them so much. Australians also have something about them.....

Californians have no accents at all....

darned dull.

Okay, so people who don't sign negatives aren't cowards, I was just a bit taken aback. And this whole reputation thing takes some getting used to, doesn't it? It's like a small running commentary under the surface.

Imagine, if you will, a room full of people at a meeting. And as the meeting goes forward, and people come up and speak, everyone in the audience has either a red or a green light come on in the middle of their forehead. Maybe the people who don't care, or who are listening to something else, show no light. But the audience sure would look strange, wouldn't it? I bet most people would be so distracted by the pretty changing lights that they would lose their train ...of........

ooooh its like Christmas.....

Quite annoying really. The last time I was in Toronto, everyone thought that I was Australian. When I mentioned that they all sounded like Americans, they seemed to shut up though...

Har!

Regards,

Fish.

Perhaps it was your social skills and not your accent, Fish.

HAHAHAHA I'll bet that telling them they sound like Americans didn't go down well! Oh, Fish, you play fast and loose with your safety!

And the Governator is not a native, otherwise he could run for President. He has personality to spare. He's one of the most quotable governors in the country. If your state is tumbling into bankruptcy, at least you can enjoy your governor talking about it......

See, it worked again.

Bergstrom,

My refined and highly educated European social skills are above your reproach. However, for someone who has never had the obvious pleasure of meeting me, you seem to know me all too well.

Still, best that you hope that the dry side of your state doesn't decide to make too many changes to the education system, should they ever gain control...

Regards,

Fish.

Joanie...

"I'll be back" ??
"Girly-men" ??

Surely not.

Regards,

Fish.

yes, they may sound like americans (kind of), but if you ask them how to spell color (colour), valor (valour), or any of those other words that are not French, then i think you can figure out where there roots are.

lol, one of my best friends is canadian. when i first met him i said that canadians and americans were basically the same. there was almost a fight, but im happy he was drunk when i said it because he did not remember the next day. had he, we might not have been friends...
