Some Trees As Examples

I like to look ate real trees as images for styling bonsai rather than just copying clichee bonsai trees.

here a linden tree, lime tree, Tilia platiphyllum, in Bavaria, Germany, close to my home

Which also illustrates quite nicely that most old deciduous trees develop more or less of a broom shape as they reach maturity..... as do many conifers.

That linden is a thing of wonder! It's also a nice example of what Naka describes as a "spade-shaped" canopy.
