Photo Visit to Lodders Bonsai 2008
As promised, here's the photo shoot I made while at Lodders Bonsai in The Netherlands, April 26th 2008.
I'm not posting the photos here on the bonsaitalk website directly because of the large number of photos and the file size restrictions which greatly reduce the quality. I have uploaded the original 8 megapixel images. Where possible I've tried to capture the prices in the photo - you'll need to go to "Large" or "Original" sized photos to read them. All photos are here on "FLICKR": http://www.flickr.com/photos/norbur...57604745505387/ You can click on individual photos and see the full sized images by chosing "ALL SIZES". Here is the total set as a slideshow: http://www.flickr.com/photos/norbur...ith/2443612700/ If anyone has questions about particular photos I'll try my best to answer here. Enjoy.

A few things...
First I'm extremely jealous but also very lucky (for my wallet) that there are no places that like that around me. I mean, the size of the operations there have to be immense. I've never seen anything like it. Secondly, while there was obviously lots of pricey material there it was nice to see they also have good starter material that could be real nice in a few years without killing your bonsai budget. Do those words go together? I feel like I have a lack of planned bonsai budget for the year. I think I don't make a budget cause if I did then I would just feel terrible every time I went over it, again and again. Thirdly, does anyone know of any operations like this in the US? Preferrably east coast or in the general vicinity? Thank so much for posting, even just watching the slideshow on fast was worth the 10 minutes it took. Also, kudos for posting full quality pics. I get sick of these small jpg images. Yuck. Cheers, -EK

I finally discovered what kind of Zanthoxylum I bought - it's a Zanthoxylum beecheyanum.
