Legoland Visit. (yep. That's Right)
Hi All,
A little while ago we went to Legoland (Windsor UK), along with nieces & nephews etc. The park is about 10 minutes drive from where I live, so we go 2-3 times a year. On previous visits I had seen some quite good miniature trees.. so this time I took the digi camera. The trees are provided (or at least were when the park opened) by a bonsai nursery in the SW of England. Looking at this first one again, the foliage looks very much like a sophora of some type. Regards,

last one. Chinese elm I think.
Obviously these are not specimen bonsai such as you would see in a pucka show thread, but I find them fascinating nonetheless. There are literally hundreds of trees like these all over the park, the time & effort put into them must be huge. Didn't have time to take any more photos, the family were not to keen on having their trip to legoland "spoilt" by bonsai... Regards

Now you did it. I no longer want to grow bonsai. Instead, I will create my own legoland in my back yard
Looks like it was fun.It is interesting to see the different ways people use trees in art. Would you say that the only reason these trees are not bonsai, is because they are not in a pot, or are there other reasons? |

Wow! That is pretty neat, i like how they did the arrangement with the ones that are right next to each other, with the right one slanted to the left.

Thats the main (only?) reason I would think. Some (most!) of them are waay better styled than my own personal collection...hmmm, perhaps a little late night trip with some bolt-croppers and a spade is in order... not really ![]()
