Re: Bonsai Talk Spring Show

Here is a Satsuki Azalea, variety "Kinsai," which we have had for about three years.

It stands 28" above the container. Accent plant is a bamboo.

Re: Bonsai Talk Spring Show

Here is a Cedar of Lebanon (Cedrus Lebani) in an inexpensive Korean container. This is a large tree (37 inches or about 94 cm) and I did not have the headroom to use a stand with it for this photo.

We'll call it a formal upright, although it is not quite a perfectly straight trunk.

Re: Bonsai Talk Spring Show

Here is the Liquidambar orientalis that was featured in the recent Spring trimming video. Height is just a smidge under 26 inches (66cm)

The tree is potted in a glazed oval pot with an interesting bead around the center. It came from one of the Southern California pot vendors (I'll update this when I check my notes)

The stand appears to be zelkova (keyaki wood), and it once belonged to the late Jack Dutro.
