I attended the local bonsai club show a couple of weeks ago. As this was an "outdoor" show, I decided to try photographing some trees using Kodak's Infrared (IR) film. I usually use this film for landscape photography, but I thought it might be interesting for bonsai. I'm using a YashicaMat 124G twin lens camera, IR film, and a special filter to block out all visible light. What's captured on film is the sun's IR radiation reflected off the subjects. Green foliage reflects all IR, and comes out white on print. This tree is about 3 feet tall was in full bloom with dark pink flowers. I wish I took a color photo to show the contrast... perhaps next year. If it is, how come the pots don't reflect a "hotter" fingerprint? Just curious. Bonsaial __________________ A tree a day...thats all we ask.
