Austin Club Auction

To anyone in the area, the Austin Bonsai Society is having its annual club auction Wednesday night. You do not have to be a member to participate in this auction.

The auction begins at 7:30 PM Wednesday, November 9th at the Zilker Botanical Gardens (2220 Barton Springs Rd. Austin, Texas).

I Hope to see some new faces there.

kind regards,
Jim

Have a good auction!

John,
You drove a thousand miles to ride a bicycle??
Those wouldn't be bad if they had about another 75 horsepower!
Dale

The Calendar is a great place to post events. There's nothing wrong with opening a thread, but the calendar will let people set reminders and get home page exposure.

I've added the calendar event here:

Matt

No Dale...we flew (boy, were my arms tired) and Fed-Exed the bikes to the hotel where we reassembled them! Great time for a good cause. We found a great sushi place Dale! (Kenichi if you are in the Austin area).

Maybe someone can take some photos for posting here? We'd love to see the material and how the event turns out!

Matt

Though Kinichi isn't the best sushi bar in town, they do have real wasabi (not the noxious green-colored horseradish/mustard paste). The wasabi is so delectable that there's never any left after the meal. Most of us, when we've been there, just pick it up with our fingers and eat it. It's like eating chips and salsa, without needing the chips. Yum!

John, if you ever return, give me a shout and we'll go to Musashino.

Here's a cool site regarding Austin and sushi, appropriately called austinsushi.com

Cheers,
Jim

I've worked hard to get people to donate better stock than in the past. I really hope all the effort results in a turn-around from previous years. Thank you for adding the event to the calendar. I'll post again after the event.

Kind regards,
Jim

John,
Never been to Austin, in fact, ONLY been to Dallas for Dallas/Kimura a few years back. Maybe someone will invite me down someday for a Lone Star convention.
BTW, can you get those ten-speeds with the big Electra Glide seats yet?
Yooowwwwch!

Jim,
I'll bet everyone leaves with clean, open sinus passages!

A large bite of Wasabi....the next best thing to "slushy" brain freeze!
