Final picture a close up of the trunks and moss. No trunk was crossing each other however the photos don't say that but it's true.

David, thanks for the photo essay. This group will look excellent when it leafs out. Actually it looks very good now, in its winter garb.
Be sure to post a picture when it has leafed out.

A couple of questions, is the slab natural or man-made, and what is the muck wall made from?

I wondered the same thing about the slab: Real or handmade, though, that's a heck of a nice slab! I think I saw a few under TreeBeard's new deck. Maybe a crowbar and some muscle??


I have seen some people make their own muck from river bottom clay and chopped sphagnum kneaded together.

Is that water tank for the bonsai?

all man made under there... some call them artistically split reconstituted natural stone, others call them broken concrete paving slabs
