bonsaiTALK Hint: Did you know you can double click any bonsai term on this page for its definition?

Sorry I was thinking of dwarf alberta spruce (P glauca 'Albertina Conica) - even so I searched for some images and they can look pretty good as well. Maybe some experimentation is in order.

Dave, They do seem to need protection from the very harsh summer sun we get down here and other than that they seem to grow very well.

Dale, thanks for the info. This is most definitely a work in progress, I do intend to wire the branches just how you've mentioned, it just got a bit hot outside yesterday afternoon. If I get time today I'll definitely be looking at doing just as you've suggested.

Chadguay, yes there is a new leader behind/to the left of the main trunk, not sure if it will be a permenant fixture or not just yet.

Thanks for all the comments folks, its muchly appreciated.

Ross.

Too bad I don't live where you do Ross, I'd be trying for those other 2 pots

I would have loved to get the others too, one about twice as large and the other half the size of the one i have.

The nursery owner does a trip overseas once every twelve months and is always on the lookout for that "special" pot or pots. I did ask him about getting more of them to which he replied when he goes again early 2008, if he sees them again he will buy a number of the same set as they had been very popular.

So heres hoping he can find them again.

If he can ship overseas to the USA I wouldn't mind getting one or two. I do know shipping an item from there to here isn't cheap, no matter the size of the item. At least from what I've came across. Thanks Ross for the info.
