I don't know why you say that you haven't had any progress. I like the progress that you have made. The thickness on the four main branches has improved from your first image. The secondary branchin is now under development and coming along nicely. You just want to fill in the gap on the left side of the image.

Hi Agraham, You are being facetious right? It appears to me to be thickening up nicely. I like Charles' virt from your original thread, http://forum.bonsaitalk.com/attachm...6&stc=1&thumb=1

I WAS being facetious
...but i've been called worse....much worse .I just wanted to show how far you can cut these ficus back(in my climate) and still have them develop in a short period of time, into something worth looking at.Hopefully, the drastic pruning each year will create good taper and ramification in the canopy branching.thanks, andy

Hi Andy, Ficus grow like weeds in the proper environment, that's for sure. I'm curious to see where your pruning methods take this tree. I hope you keep us updated on its progress, at least those of us that are interested in tropicals

Hi Andy, I think your design looks very good and I respect the experience of those who posted before me as well as your own experience. As a rookie I would like to offer my opinion. I see the trunk on the left as being the most prominent and where the apex should be. As it is it just doesn't look right to me, but then again I am new to this and the photos may be misleading. No matter what the growth achieved is fantastic. Out of curiousity what type of fertilizer do you use?
