While I'm at it, I like the phrase "contemporary style". That is general enough to distinguish it from traditional but without all the hair splitting over exactly what "Naturalisitic Style" means.

There is room for Classical and Contemporary Style bonsai. Somethines with collected trees there is little choice which opens up new possibilities. The contempoary style is really nothing new. When the Japanese were collecting large trees from the mountains early in the last century there were many constraints to deal with on those trees too. If you see old Japanese bonsai you see many shapes that do not fall into the Classical styles.
