How much do Korean Hornbeams grow a year?
And how long does it take for it to get to a prunable size? |

It depends on a whole bunch of variables, but normally I have seen six to ten inches in pots. As far as in the ground I don't know. I have grown them from seed and had trees worth working on in less than five years.

Like Vance said, depends on where they're being kept. I have inch and half inch trunk diameter 15 inch tall Korean hornbeam that I've had since they were seedlings 15 years ago. They are capable of pushing long foot long shoots in a few weeks in the spring. These are pruned back after that though.
In the ground, KH are not as fast as some trees, like elm, but they can grow pretty fast. |
