I hope y'all don't mind an update. It has filled out since March. And then been trimmed to shape.

I had intended to sell this one,as a matter of fact,I thought I had.Because of it's size, delivery was going to be a problem. The buyer and I mutually agreed to cancel the sale.

Can't say I'm sorry.

I think it might be ready for a bonsai pot.....any suggestions?

June,2007

36" tall and a little wider. The pot is 40" wide.

The plan is to increase the width of the canopy....or,I'll need a smaller pot and different placement of the tree in it.

Mr. Andy,

The tree is coming along very well and looking better with each photo...I do quite like the pot/tree, color/shape combination and with a wider canopy the size will be quite appropriate...

I am curious about your plan for the tree's future...With the 'multi-trunk' form and the pot length, are you contemplating 'aerial roots' on the right side for a more traditional 'banyan' form, or do you see the pot space on the right as a 'negative balance' to the overall composition?...

My only thought/suggestion would be to consider over time developing this into a less 'helmet like' canopy perhaps even a 'multi-apex' silhouette similar to the large 'circus tents' with several points of support...Great pot, beautiful tree, and I do look forward to seeing this one develop with time...

Regards
Behr

Thank you for the comments Behr.

My preference would be to add aerial roots and develop the right side in a very low spreading form. But,I tend to have problems with instigating aerial roots on nerifolias down here.We have the humidity required, but our constant wind is a hindrance.

Yes,I have considered a multi apex look also.I just transplanted this one a couple of days ago(by myself,I might add) and I'm letting it rest for a month or two.At that time,I'll defoliate and do some wiring and more thinking about the direction to take.

Very nice, Andy. Maybe a small misting system dedicated to this tree for the right side? Maybe grafted roots w/ plastic straws?

I dunno, sure is a mighty fine tree, tho.
