Ive just trimmed this little Elm up would you say he looks natural or not ?

Natural...maybe. But nothing I would admire as a bonsai. Just my honest opinion.

I like the second pic. I think the trunk has a nice shape. It may need a bit more of a haircut and a more shallow pot but I think it is a pleasant looking tree.

maybe if you cleaned out the middle (removed inward-growing, or crossing) branches toward the trunk, it would show a more mature looking tree.

So somebody wants me to tell them what to do to improve the tree...(even though they didn't ask for any thoughts on improvement. The only thing asked for was if it looked "natural")
I agree with the others that thinning it out and getting rid of the crossing branches would greatly improve the tree. A shollower pot would be good too. I like the color of the current pot though.

Nthan,
You are in the midst of spring Am I correct. Are thiose last years leaves or has a new flush come on? I usually take off all last years leaves at the first of springtime since they dont all fall here in my climate. By doing this you can get a better idea of how to proceed with the styling. And better photos can be shared with the forum. Good luck
