creating new roots-could do with help here!
The sageretia is doing well now, lots of new buds and I'm constantly pinching new growth which is increasing the ramification.
But the tree has this weird root area, not quite a nebari, and I was thinking of possibly creating a new nebari. The white line would ideally represent the new soil line, and I was thinking of peeling the bark off the root area in a way similar to air layering, and then repoting into a deeper pot so that the compost completely covers the existing roots.

I've done this on a few trees and the results are good if you give about two years of growth time before removing the old rootball here's a good gide to go by http://www.bonsai4me.com/AdvTech/ATNebari.html
