During a water break with Kenji Miyata this weekend, we concluded that writing about bonsai was never going to improve our collections.

If it isn't written about what is everyone doing here?

Reading about it, it might. At least, it did it for me.

And I don't think people who wrote those wonderful bonsai articles in the past, were wasting their time. Writing them, it didn't improve their own trees (although writing usually makes the writer think more about the issues and may learn something from the experience), but it certainly affected the outcome of thousands of other peoples' trees.

I entered, and am awaiting notification from them. Wish me luck. As to how much writing about bonsai may not help improve your trees, isn't really an issue here, as this is an EDITORS possition, not a writers possition, so you'd only be getting the chance to read and edit some of the articles before they are published, in a magazine that many people here, and else where have a subscription to. THAT should help improve your collection.
