i believe i hav ovat, and also a tetragona. square leaves that grow around a rather thin stem? the silhouettte in your avatar does look very much like the one i have.

yes, mine is tetragona. Its about 2 years old, and needs constant trimming even tho its tiny!
It got featured on a Shohin website a while ago, its just a shame the pot is crumbling!

Its nice when things start falling into place...I will have some pics ready of some mame I've been working on in about 3 months. They are young, but I'm excited all the same about them. I like growing a branch and getting the basic shape, then air-layer or simply root it as a cutting, then give it some time and training, makes for a decent mame/shito down the road. We all of course know this technique well I suppose.

thanx for posting every one its great to see some trees . i've been working on a few and hope to get pics up soon. oh one more question how small does a tree have to be to be considered a mame.
