shohin boxwood
This buxus japonica is one of several that were collected from an old hedge.
Over the years it's been reduced considerably to it's present size, 6.5 inches above the pot rim. I expect the coming growing season to substantially increase the foliage mass. Mike

Learning the mechanics of bonsai is a matter of rote. Over and over again the processes are practiced until the hands and eyes know the moves. Why that huge jin? It is so large it detracts from the rest of the tree.
I think it would be better if it was removed, or substantially reduced ![]() |

It looks very nice. Like the jin it makes the tree look very old. A little more on top and it will be fine. Enjoyed it very much! Keep up the good work! I also like the pot is in.
