Even though this plant is not shohin, I dug it with the intention of making it shohin. I have decided that the trunk is too large and this will not work for a shohin size pot. I would like some feedback on this pot. I think I may have underpotted this plant a little. I thought the original pot was too large.

Pyracantha Moyogi
Height: 14"
Spread: 17"
Trunk: 2.5"
Pot: Japan

Thanks for Viewing, Bonsai-al
More to come soon..

Nice trees, the first juniper"shimpaku",firethorn, and the tridents I like the most. They all do well by me but the later tridents trunk taper is just great, good luck with the poting. The fella in my avatar is within the allowed shohin size, not too good for looking at tho.I will be glad when I can put together a good display myself. I think the firethorn is underpotted. The shape is good but if it where a bit longer it would support the tree well.I guess I think the branching is too wide for the pot.-FWIW

Love that fat little trident and the hornbeam. Not quite ready for show, but great job so far.

Instead of formal displays, I would rather show them in a looser, more informal (but tasteful, nevertheless) setting. Formal display with scroll can come later when you have developed some mature branching and fine ramification.

(I hope that your nursery hunt at Kim's went well)

Best regards,
Attila
