Cool Mame formal display set up...

Here is something I've been working on for a little under a week now. I made the pot from a rock (1" tall 1 1/2" wide). I made the background from some old wood paneling, I think I need to use a darker less glossy type. I made the matt from bamboo and black cotton thread. The scroll is made of the same materials as the matt, but I glued a scroll I made onto it. The table is made from some of the scrap paneling. The floor is an old shirt of mine. And the veiwing stone was a rock I collected. I would like to cut out a peice of wood to place the rock on. I want to put a mame Serrisa I'm workking on in this setting. The Serissa is a cutting I've been working on since spring. It should be well developed by the time I get it into this pot. Any thoughts or suggestions?

For a fifteen year old you are doing excellent work. Not many people can do what you have done with "found" material.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks Tiapan . It does need some work though. I would like to show more of the scroll's string, and the rock is to close to the edge. So I think I need to make the back drop about 2 - 3 inches taller and wider.

Your display looks great. I would keep a light background as a dark color will mask the leaves of the tree. Look at some of the pics that have been posted here that have a darker background and you will see what I mean. Also, you might try to find some plywood for the background, maybe some birch, it is a light color. Again, you have an eye for the display. Keep it up.

Thanks Jeff,

I see what you mean by the dark background. I have some lightly colored ply laying around. I will see if it could not work.

Thanks again,
