Kusamono: Hostas

Here's a little kusamono I am growing this year.... the leaves are starting to unfurl, it's a yellow and green verigated leaf which is purported to have a light purple flower. Should be lovely. I may have to reduce the number of shoots if it looks to crowded soon. But for the moment, it is what it is....

The pot is a porcelain original by our own weeble.

I'll port more pics as it developes, and definitly when it flowers.

Enjoy!

Kindest regards,

Victrinia

Why Thank you Candy....

I just recently purchased a Canon 40D. This particular photo was taken with a EF 70-200 f/2.8 L lens. Hence the beautiful depth of field. It's amazing what kind of power a camera configuration like that can have. I'm looking forward to the quality improving more as my learning curve eases.

Kindest regards,

Victrinia

Hey Vic I like it, you shouldn't have to thin. I have found that one to two years in these small pots and the leaves and stems reduce in size- even with fertilizer. Do you know what variety it is? We have probably 60 varieties of minihostas (most came from the Miniature Plant Kingdom). I am still looking for a variety known as "Blue Mouse Ears".

Cheers,
John

Vic -

I recently got the same lens and am having a good time experimenting. It will be fun to see what you do with yours.

On this site... if the price is listed in USD... you can have it shipped to the US... (Ang3lFir3 showed me where to find this...)

We are looking to get some also... so I would be happy to let you know how succesful that is.

I'm happy to hear it probably won't need to be thinned. I think I still have the tag somewhere.... I'll have to look.

Kindest regards,

Victrinia
