Hey Vic,

Whats up with that tree? I walked by it and tripped on those beautiful bullet holes at the base. I use farenheit, not celcius, I'm not Al Gore BTW, my planet doesn't have a cold.

I have a question, say it doesn't rain in his part of town for 8 months, do you recommend him useing clorine water?

Who needs an airspeed indicator when landing a plane, not me lol.

Proudly,

Pearl

Well troll... what happens is... Daniel cuts the trunk and removes some perfectly good bark... to expose part of the trunk... then take the die-grinder to it and hollows it out.... the holes are the two largest holes that will be in the final design of this trees dead wood.... the magnificent void inside this tree is something to be seen in person. This is one of those trees you just stop and look at in amazement. It's a truly magnificent specimen and to see the drastic change in this tree occur in front of your very eyes is overwhelming...

as to the water... leaving tap water to sit overnight (if you are worried about the chlorine levels) will help with disipating the chlorine.... however there is not enough chlorine in most peoples water... hence why she suggested that he decide is the water was strongly treated...which is no longer the case in many places....

as for landing planes without a airspeed indicator.... wtf does that have to do with Bonsai?

Pride in ignorance is folly.

That being said....

It's a good thing it does rain in Nebraska more often than that. But aside from that, depending on the quality of his water (as some places have to treat their water more drastically than others) it is possible to water with chlorinated water. I can assure you that the water at those two very famous bonsai gardens is chlorinated. And I can equally assure you, having worked with nearly every tree in Elandan, that the water is not affecting their health.

I have no issue with you dispensing advice based on research. However I advise you not to get your feathers in a ruffle if experience casts light on an easier, and equally effective alternative.

Regards,

Victrinia

It's true tap will work, but equally true is distilled and purified is better. You as the artist may not see the difference, but your bonsai roots would tell a different story.

Hey Vic, how many "World Championship bonsai Titles" do you hold, just curious?

This is fun,

Corey

It does look abit odd now, still is a great tree. I think the stark bright of the wood makes it look wrong atm. Give it a year and it should look very good.
