8 Mini Trees
G’day guys,
Here are some pics of another 8 of my small trees. I have to say that practically all of them shall be repotted into more suitable pots next Spring. Hope you enjoy. Otherwise, size is measured upwards from the pot rim.] 01 - Semi-cascade, Ficus retusa - “Panda“. [very slow growing] in a Walsall pot. Height of the tree is, 6cm [2 ¼”]. [2 yrs] 02 - French yamadori, cascade, Juniperus communis, in a Walsall pot. Height of the tree is,14cm [5 ½“]. [5 yrs] 03 - Dutch yamadori, twisted trunk, Juniperus communis, in a Chinese 'Yixing' pot. Height of the tree is, 7cm [2 ¾“]. [3 yrs] 04 - Dutch yamadori, twisted trunk, Juniperus procumbens, in a Walsall pot. Height of the tree is, Height, 5cm [2“]. [6yrs] 05 - Informal upright, Larix decidua, in a Japanese pot. Height of the tree is, 8.5cm [3 ¼“]. [4yrs] 06 - Semi-cascade/Twisted-trunk Larix decidua, in a Chinese “lotus-style” pot. Height of the tree is, 5cm [2“]. [3yrs] 07 - Wind-swept, Larix kaempferi, in a Chinese pot. Height of the tree is, 12cm [4 ¾“]. [7 yrs] 08 - Semi cascade, Malus sylvestris, in a Walsall pot. Height of the tree is, 8cm [3 ¼“]. [5 yrs]

very nice trees. One thing I noticed from these posts, and it is not particular to these trees - for some reason, having the back view right beside the tree detracts from the presentation, although I don't exactly know why.
If next time, for example, you were to post 6 front views and then 6 back views I betcha it would look a whole lot better. I think for some reason with the "mirror image" next to it the trees look less designed - less unique because of the mirror symmetry. I have seen this in the Gallery, too. I find it is a "clinical" and not "artistic" presentation. I don't know why this is. Is it just me? Opinions? Regards, Matt
