2004 Shohin Seminar(partIII) Macro Accents

I took the pics of some of the accents in macro, simply beacuse they were miniature works of art. The pots were very nice and the size of the plants were unbelievable. all of these accents would sit on a fifty cent piece, and in some cases have room to spare.

I decided that I have to try this simply marvelous way of accenting shohin. I trapsed over to Jim Barrett's booth and decided to buy a couple of thimble pots to try my hand at. He makes all shapes and colors and I picked out two.

The first is a rather long unique shaped pot in a white thickish glaze with fine black pepper sprinkled in the glaze. The pot sits on my finger.

This is a more traditional shaped pot on my finger tip.

I hope to post some pics next weekend after I come back from Monterey and plant them up.

Great weekend at the show, wish you all could have been there. I did see Robert there and he was workin the workshop room.

Best regards, Bonsai-al

Al,
Thank You for taking the time to do these posts! Some very nice work represented here. How do they get these accents planted, they are so small?! The shari and jin work is remarkable too!

I think my hands are too big to do this kinda work?
