Winter Moss
can i keep the moss on my tropicals that i am growing indoors for the winter? will the moss thrive indoors by a window or does it need to be removed? what about my trees that are garage kept for the winter? do they need the moss removed or can the moss go dormant as well?

Moss will turn yellow and brown indoors unless you keep up the humidity with a lot of misting, not just daily but more like hourly. Typically a house is dry in winter from the furnace running. It will do better in the garage but will still go yellow without the misting. Either way it should come back in spring.
I'd suggest that you remove it and grow the moss outside for the winter, because when it dries it will slow down the air and water from getting to the roots of the trees. |
