What to do with my serissa

Hi

I got a Serissa as a present last Christmas. It was quite healthy until last August when it dried out and the leaves dropped off. Since then I've watered it really carefully and tried to let it grow its own way while it recovers. So, now it seems healthy again but doesn't look very good. One of the main branches has no growth except for one small shoot, and the rest are quite sparse and twiggy. Actually, most of the growth is at back or top of the tree.

I have it on a East facing window that gets 4 or 5 hours direct sun in the morning but I think the twigginess may mean it needs more light. I can only give it more light by putting it out on the balcony, which is quite windy or moving it to a West facing window which gets tons of sun and I think the tree may scorch. What should I do?

Also, I'm considering prunning ALL the shoots off to get rid of the twiggy ones and maybe encourage more even growth on the other branches. Would this work or will it kill the plant?

Lastly, there are lots of wiring marks on the trunk from before I bought it, more like stains than scars. How long before these will go away?

Thanks
Gordon

Re: What to do with my serissa

First off put the tree outside on the balcony, as to pruning I would just leave it to recover. Try using a nice solution of superthrive and vita b1 on couple waterings to see if that helps.
