Re: smaller leaves?
I would just underscore Matt's advice about developing branches. I wouldn't worry about the size of leaves at this point. You want to develop good branching (lower ones thicker than higher ones, etc) and decide on a shape. I suspect the larger leaves will help you in getting faster growth in the branches, too.
I had a Fukien Tea...i'm no expert because mine died! It was a very nice tree but the trunk was rotting and I didn't know at the time how to deal with that, so it eventually just rotted away. But my experience was the leaves pretty much took care of themselves...over serveral years new ones were always small. |
