Indoor Bonsai
Hi, I was wondering if you guys could make some sort of list or give suggestions for bonsai that can stay indoors all year round in an office. Any success stories would be welcome as well.

Without supplemental lighting, unless you have a southern exposure window it could be rough for year round indoors. Ficus Benjamina, Ficus Retusa, Carmona (Fukien Tea) would be your best bet. Why don't you describe the office. It would help with suggestions.

There is one open window facing South and pretty good lighting including overhead and lamps.

Schefflera arboricola. Does well in office settings.

I agree with Paul if you check out
Fuku Bonsai they have what they call their "True Indoor Bonsai" and the SCHEFFLERA is the tree they use. Although with a south window and supplemental lighting you may open your possibilities a bit more. Adam |

Sounds like a pretty good location for a Fukien Tea or a Ficus Retusa. Although, a Ficus Benjimina variety would surely do as well as would a Schefflera. The only thing that might be an issue is the humidity with a Fukien Tea or Ficus Retusa.
