Humidifier Question

Hi all.... need some advise. Presently all my trees that are in "winters nap" mode are doing fine. My indoor trees are another story. I am guilty of a cardinal sin..... overwatering. I have a very dry home, stupidly, I probable have watered more than I should to make up for the lack of moisture in the air. My home is always kept cool 60-65 F. and the trees are in my corner windows (east and south). Being in zone 5/6 they will be inside for a couple of months more. Suprisingly the Serrisa's are doing fine, the Brush Cherry's and the Ficus are suffering....big time. I want to buy a humidifier for the 'plant' corner. Is a small 2 gallon a day type going to get the moisture up in this area or do I need a bigger unit? Sometimes you have to fail to learn

Re: Humidifier Question

thats what i use too.
it works ok,but i also keep a vaporizer for extra dry days.
more importantly though,is the lack of air cirrulation in a corner, the humidifier has a fan built in and thats a great help.
your pots dry out faster helping with the overwatering problem, and keeps the folage dryer helping with fungus problems.
if you get nothing else, get a fan.
imo,its esential.
