Unfortunalty I cannot tell with a picture that less in detail. In order for us to help, you may want to take some closer pictures ofthe leaves and trunks so we can help....

This page may be helpful for comparison on some common semitropical varieties, like Ficus, Ehretia and Sageretia, (note the spelling if you need to do a web search)

http://www.bonsai4me.com/Gallery/GalleryRandyCowie.html

You can find care info at BCI Species Index

What you have there looks more like a Fukien Tea to me than the Chinese Sweet Plum (sageretia), But I don't think it will last too long there on top of your computer monitor.

Find a bright cool area with the best circulation if you choose to keep it indoors. Also study the watering section of the ***FAQ***

Regards,

Matt

P.S. Descriptive titles are a help on the threads. I will change this one for you.

Thanks for that, did you mean my one doesn't look like a chinese sweet plum? Mine is the top one on the sofa (only for the piccy though!)

Thanks for clearing it up Andrew. I agree that your and Jodie's trees look similar, and I thought in fact they were the same originally. I don't have either Fukien Tea or Sageretia myself.

Now I am a little more concerned, though. Jodie your tree looks very dry and the leaves appear wilted. You should immediately immerse it up to the pot rim in water for at least 1/2 hour to rehydrate the soil.

Please do take a look at the ***FAQ***

Regards,

Matt
