I was wondering if sub-tropical/tropical trees go through any rest period through the winter. I have a pepper tree and am going to repot it this week (it's getting chilly) and will keep it indoors.
Do they need any special treatment during the winter, or can you just keep them indoors as anyother tree? |

California Peppertrees are deciduous where I am. As bonsai, frost seems not to agree with them and they suffer die back.
That's my experience, so I think some winter protection would be a good idea. Regards, Matt
